Pet Shop Boys ‘I didn’t get where I am today’
Doing a mini-write-up for The Line of Best Fit in anticipation of the eleventh PSB album. Until then, there’s a new b-sides compilation out next month - cheekily entitled Format - which features what is possibly one of the best things the band ever penned. Denied inclusion on 2001’s Release, where it would have greatly livened up their most middle-aged album, it was eventually snuck out as the b-side of ‘Flamboyant’ in 2003. It’s the best collaboration with Johnny Marr they ever penned, and…well…listen for yourself. It’s just fucking irresistible.
